Alex Death is Milwaukee-based emerging artist working in sculpture, photography and writing.
Born in Milwaukee, Alex Death was raised devoutly Catholic, an experience that would create a fascination with art and ritual at a young age. As a teenager, Alex came out as transgender while living in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. To find connection during a challenging time, she began engaging with local art and the trans community.
Alex Death began attending the Milwaukee Institute for Art and Design in 2022, and graduated with a BFA in Fine Art + New Studio Practice in 2026. She continues to create work exploring connections to the transgender community and the weight of being a transgender woman.
